| Thank you John! I have bought the car and I am so happy with it. The dealer changed the battery before I bought it. It has a full service history and so far I don't see too many issues except some small rust bubbles on the fenders. It gets upto temperature (according to the guage) pretty quickly, but are there any signs to look for to know I plan on fixing them and get the paint reconditioned. I am excited to be a part of the SAAB family! |

NG 9-3 är känsliga för dåliga batterier, men det är mer att det kan generera oväntade uppträdanden och fel snarare än att de drar ur batterierna. Det kan vara såpass enkelt att batteriet är dåligt, men det kan även vara att något drar tjuvström.
Den rost som kommer på dessa bilar är ffa rost i plåten, typ runt skärmkanterna bak. Mig veterligen är de ok undertill.
Saab går bra i snö och har alltid gjort. Fyrhjulsdrivna bilar går naturligtvis ännu bättre, men framhjulsdrivna är också mycket dugliga i snö.

| Buying advice 2006 9-3 Turbo V6 Aero |
Hi guys,
I am hoping to join the Saab owner's club by buying a 2006 9-3 Turbo V6 aero. I went to see and test drive the car today and the first thing of note was that the battery was dead. The owner said it's because he didn't use it for 2 months. I read that these cars have battery issues, is that true and is it as simple to fix as changing the battery with a brand new one?
The car seemed to drive well and I loved the experience including the exhaust note. I haven't had a chance to look under the car yet but do they have rust issues? If I manage to get a look underneath, what should I be looking out for?
The service book has been stamped regulary but it is an old car and I do expect some issues to appear from time to time. Having read about cooling related issues what are the signs to watch out for and how do I avoid such issues pre-emptively?
I live in Västerbotten, so we get a good amount of snow. How usable are the FWD 9-3s in the snow?
Lastly, the owner has a used car business but the car is in his name. So technically I will buy from a private person. Am I being paranoid thinking this behaviour is dodgy or is it okay? (I am not sure, but buying from a business gives me a 14day right of withdrawal, right?)
